Our Mission

WSSS encourages independence and personal choices through a continuum of supportive services designed to meet the needs of a diverse community while recognizing each individuals’ goals, dignity, and ability to achieve his or her own quality of life.

Who we are

West Suburban Senior Services has been assisting senior citizens in the near West Cook County suburbs township for over 40 years. As a charitable, non-profit organization, the agency provides a variety of services, programs and assistance exclusively to address the needs of senior citizen residents.

What we do

Our services have grown over the years and include an array of community-based programs. Each year we serve over 9,000 different senior citizens and their families. While select services are provided in senior citizens’ homes, the agency also operates sites in Bellwood, LaGrange, and Forest park. In addition, our staff routinely works with senior citizens in area hospitals, nursing homes and retirement communities.

Get Involved

Many of the activities and events scheduled are available for no or minimum cost and we schedule the activities and events at the Bellwood and LaGrange sites. In addition, please feel free to join us for lunch as many activities are scheduled at midday. If you have suggestions for different activities, please contact us. We attempt to provide a variety of events that are of interest to area senior citizens. West Suburban Senior Services does not have a membership fee and area senior citizens age 60 and older are welcome to attend any and all events that they find interesting.

Valentine's Day Party with Adult Day Services!

The Adult Day Services Program held its annual Valentine's Day Party this month! Our entertainment was provided by Trisha and Steve, a performing duo who specialize in entertaining senior citizens. Trisha danced with the gentlemen and sang back-up with the ladies while Steve was the lead singer and played the keyboard. Trisha had such energy, she got everyone to dance and even if they were unable to stand they danced in their chairs. After the performance staff and seniors drank punch and ate treats. Our seniors really enjoyed themselves!
